My response to Romeo and Juliet

My reaction to Romeo and Juliet was just MIND-BLOWING for me!!! I mean, like serious I saw the Romeo and Juliet movie when I was in elementary school it was boring. But, this one was just like WHOA! It was amzingly good. Because, you see i'm not much of a person that likes romantic stuff alot. But, this movie after it was done I found surprisingly myself that I wanted to watch the movie over and over again and never stop!
The Romeo and Juliet movie that I watched in class had some very deep details that let me understand what the characters were really saying and also what they really meant. Since, I had studied William Shakespeare's work before. I'm really glad that Ms.Robbins had showed us the Romeo and Juliet movie or else I wouldn't have had changed my mind of romance the teensy bit. So, THANK YOU MS.ROBBINS!!!! ^^

My 3 All-Star-Mentors

Aurora, Goddess of Dawn

http://josephinewall.com/aurora.html

Just before the sun rises
there is a hush
Slowly and quietly comes Aurora, Goddess of Dawn
Her gorgeous gown following her
her wings swiftly brush against everything it touches
Awakening the trees, the birds, the leaves
Slowly she takes out her paintbrush
and her kaleidoscopic palatte
Then the brush makes its first stroke of paint
Bursts out the color of yellow
the radiant rays of the sun
Then other colors bursts out
the luminous orange, the dazzling blue, the majestic purple
the beaming green and the incandescent red
Slowly she puts away the paintbrush and palatte
and walks away
Leaving the world to awake!

I chose this post as my first mentor because it includes and has lots of details. It gives us a very clear image and perspective of what's going on and what the poem is really trying to tell us. It elaborates on each detail and sentence. It also uses big words like: incandescent, kaleidoscopic. This poem reaminds me of a painting that I saw in a museum when I was little.

I hear smacks and screams
I hear shouts of pain
I can hear the silent cries
Deep in her throat

Everything in her mind is calm
At ease
Except the congested part
Of memories from millenniums ago

I can feel the knot in her stomach
She feels twisted
And alone
I know she can read my mind

That's why I have to keep my thoughts to myself
And not share what I can see
Through those dark, shadowy eyes
Of that girl who haunts those who enter
and torture

I chose this post as my second all star mentor of the week because, it also gives us a clear image and perspective of what the poem is saying and the picture of the poem that it's relating to. It elaborates on each
sentence and detail. Of what the sentence and detail is trying say and explain to us.

The post that shadman wrote was really good. Because, it includes lots of details and perspective. His blogpost was very creative and inspiring because, he elaborates on each sentence. Also, he gives a very clear meaning on what he is really trying to tell us and the whole world around him.
